When you book a consultation with Advocate Anakha, we collect the following information:
- Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number
- Consultation Details: Type of legal matter, preferred date and time
- Paid Document-Service Details: Intake answers, identity documents, property records, notices, and other files you choose to upload
- NRI Status: Country of residence (if applicable)
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Razorpay (we do not store card details)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Schedule and conduct your legal consultation
- Communicate with you regarding your booking
- Process payments securely
- Process cancellations, refunds, and refund-status communication
- Improve our services
- Comply with legal obligations
- Draft and coordinate a paid legal-notice, Power of Attorney, or other document service you request
3. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:
- All data transmission is encrypted using SSL/TLS
- Payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS compliant Razorpay
- We never store credit card numbers, CVV, or other sensitive payment data
- Access to personal information is restricted to authorized personnel only
- Uploaded legal documents are accessed through time-limited server-generated links when they must be delivered for the requested service
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. Paid case metadata is generally configured for two-year retention. Uploaded legal records may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary for the engagement, a dispute, legal compliance, or professional obligations. You may request deletion, subject to those obligations.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Razorpay: Payment processing and refund initiation
- Cloudflare: Website hosting and security
- Resend: Transactional email and secure delivery of case communications or documents
- Google: Analytics, where enabled
Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.
6. Refund Handling Data
If you request a refund, we may use and share the booking details, payment reference, contact information, and refund eligibility notes required to verify the request and initiate the refund through Razorpay or the original payment network.
Approved refunds are initiated within 5-7 business days. Final credit timing can depend on the bank, card network, or payment method and may take 2-3 additional business days beyond that.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and receive a copy of your personal data
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal obligations)
- Object to processing of your personal data
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
8. Attorney-Client Privilege
Legal consultations and engaged matters are handled under the advocate's professional confidentiality duties and any privilege that applies under law. Sending an initial enquiry, using an automated tool, or uploading a document before an engagement is confirmed does not by itself guarantee that every communication is legally privileged. Authorised processors may handle data only as needed to provide the requested service, as described above.
